Is it better to rent a disposal bin or get The Bagster?

Deciding on whether to rent a disposable bin or get a Bagster all depends on your preferences, likes and actual needs. Disposal bins and Bagsters both have their advantages and disadvantages so it is important to do research and asses your needs before choosing either one. Below are some things to consider when it comes to choosing between a disposal bin and the Bagster.

The Bagster

Bagsters are great for small DIY projects and jobs in the home or the office and you can usually fill it up with items up to 1500KG. It is especially great for impulsive DIY people and an excellent clean up solution for roofing, landscaping, renovations, and much more.

You may suddenly wake up one day and decide that you want to clear out the garage or build a new shed. Keep in mind that once you buy a Bagster, it is yours to keep so it’s something that you can store until you spontaneously decide to carry out some DIY work around the house or yard.

A downside is that your Bagster bag is a single use product, which means that you should buy it only if you can afford to make that investment. Another down side is that Bagsters may not be suitable for bigger jobs such as construction or home renovation.

Using the Bagster comes with limitations as you are only allowed to put specific types of waste inside. Things like: flooring, lawn furniture, carpet and roof shingles are allowed, however things like: oil, electronics and food are not allowed. You can see a full list of materials that are and aren’t allowed here.

Disposal Bins

Unlike the Bagster, renting a disposal bin will enable you to tackle much bigger jobs and dispose different types of waste because there are specific bins available to accommodate this.

Disposal bins also come in a variety of sizes from 4 to 40 yards and are heavy duty which means you can throw items into the bins without having to lay them straight to create enough space, as you would with a Bagster. Also, a bin will not lose shape like a bag will.

Most disposal bin services in Toronto let you schedule an exact date and time for pick up and what’s even better is that you don’t even have to be at home when they come. With Bagster however, your trash is picked up by Waste Management within three business days from the time you call to schedule the pick-up. Also, collections are only made on Monday to Friday from 5 AM to 8 PM. Overall, choosing a Bagster or disposal bin really depends on what you think will be best for the type of task you need to complete and what will be more convenient for you.

A Bagster may be the best choice for you if you do not have much to throw out and do not know how long it will take you to complete a task. You will not be charged for the amount of time you keep a Bagster within your possession, as you only pay for the item itself and the pickup. However if you do have plenty of large items to dispose of, a disposal bin service would be the best choice for you.
